Meet the Main Street

Petworth Main Street is a program designed to promote and support the businesses and residents of the Petworth Area. This includes Upshur Ave NW from 8th Street to 13th Street, and Georgia Avenue NW from Upshur Street to Missouri Avenue. Formed as a program under the organization Uptown Community Initiative (with a partner program in the Uptown Main Street) Petworth Main Street seeks to celebrate and highlight the culture, economic, and social contributions this amazing and unique area lends to Washington DC.

Through our work, Petworth Main Street preserves the cultural identity of our neighborhoods and supports economic redevelopment efforts.  We provide technical assistance to small and local business and plan events that highlight our unique heritages and residents. Through the support of business owners, community members and sponsors, we provide year-round programming and support to our more than 200 businesses.  We look forward to helping to build an inviting, entertaining, and amazing section of the District in the years to come.
